is the top of a festival ea12 solid basswood?

Probably not. The EA series are typically all laminate unless they have a "S" suffix.

I have an EA-15 and need to find a hard shell case. The Washburn case GCMJDLX has been impossible to find in stock anywhere. I am considering an SDK case 1SDK-3. Does anyone know what my options are?

You may not find a serial number. and since this is not a 2,000 guitar it is very rare it would be faked. It should be in the usual places. I still say if you like it and it plays good, jump on it.

There are a few post on here about your type of saddle. There are at least three guys on here experienced with the Chiclet <? saddle. Some have made there own out of bone. IMHO it is faster and easier to change, if the problem is not easy to find....
