Last week i found this at my local GC for $300. I HAD TO have it!
Since it has a Equis Gold preamp, I'm GUESSING it's a '96…or thereabouts.
Anyway, it's hardly been played! The frets are in pristine condition.
I have never seen this color on any EA mod...

A good lam, is better than a piece of crap solid, and the other way around to.   IMHO.   There is good and bad in all of them.   Tom:)

Hello Chris,

I am not an authority in determining the model of your beautiful guitar..  But i agree that it may be a custom Washburn EA36 Marquee, some specs are listed on - www.washburn.com/about/ there is a ...

I sort of disagree about thin sounding...  My 90's EA20B has great resonance and sustain, sound good without amp...  Maybe it's because I have upgrades like Graphtech nut and bridge pins, plus recent upgrade to Grover Rotomatic 18:1 tuners (they cost m...

Thank you! All those little info pages and pdf's of catalogs are awesome, but confusing when every year is not represented... made my head spin :)

Anyway, it seems i found my color on the 1997 price list!

I had a EA20 with an Equis II in the early 90's. The Gold was definitely not a predecessor to it, but an evolution…a step up.
It is much better and more sophisticated. Inside, it says EA36. If it was an earlier model, it would have been called Marquee ...

Nice looking EA-36....I really like that Turquoise sparkle.  I think you're right ChrisTide...most likely a 1996.  I have seen a Red sparkle 1996.  My guess would be that these were made right at the end of the EA-36 model run ( just before Washburn di...

ship, no it's just turquoise sparkle. Which is fine with me…I'm not a big fan of birds eye maple. I know, just shoot me! :)

Anyway…I'm going to see if I can come up with a nice design for a pearloid pick guard. And possibly change the tuners to pearloi...

Hey all,  I recently bought an A15 that had been through hurricane Sandy.  The headstock laminate was peeling off,  so I managed to get it off in 1 piece.  But,  it needed a lot of sanding and such.  Anyway,  the logo is now gone and I can't put it bac...

i felt the original Washburn chrome tuners were loose and can't seem to keep the guitar in tune, so i decided on GROVER ROTOMATIC BLACK 102-18BC 3x3 GUITAR TUNERS, got them used of ebay... can't complain about the price and the guy had good ratings.

Hi Jimmysoap,

Welcome to Washburn forum..  Just want to make sure I understand what your doing, you want to refinish the headstock logo that came off, is that correct?  You want a waterslide of 'Washburn' for your headstock.  Two options you have are:...

I made a mistake when categorizing the guitar.  It actually is an electric Stage series A15.  I'll repost my request under electrics.

Hey Ric -

Thanks for your response.  This was a limited run - only 300 were made.  I want to assume that they used solid tops for this limited run, given that the other EA-20 models that year had solid spruce tops.
